``````````````````````````````` I am Puduvai Chandrahari. A tamil short story , novel, poems, songs writer. This is my pseudonym. My original name is N. Haridhass. I was born in Kumbakonam, Tamil Nadu, India. and was brought up by my grand mother and had my childhood education there till my age of eleven. From my age of twelve .(from 1957 to till date) I am residing in the union territory of Pondicherry State. INDIA I am a recently retired Government Employee of the Pondicherry State in South India, INDIA. I am 60 years old and married. I have a daughter and two sons. All are married and employed. My educational qualification is M.A., ( philosophy ) and M.Ed. I served in the Education Department for 36 years in different cadres as School Assistant, Post Graduate teacher, Vice Principal, Principal and State Project Director in the Education to All scheme. ( A central Government MHRD Ministry of Human Resource Project New Delhi.) I am involved in writing poems and short stories from my age of 20 onwards, from the year 1967. I have run magazines, written and directed stage dramas, and run offset press. Till date I have written more than 250 short stories in leading popular magazines and have won Many prizes and awards to my short stories, novels, and poems and have become a popular writer in Tamil language. I have published 13 books. One of my poem book by title Kurinchi Punnagai was translated In German language by the Koln University Germany. I am also a photographer. When served as Vice Principal in the Calve College Govt. Higher Secondary School , The School made a historic Hedrick record . That is, The school continuously came First Three times in the state in the higher secondary +2 Public Exam Results. While serving as State Project Director in the SSA., I brought Hundreds of out of school children in regular schools. Brought drinking water and toilet facilities to all the schools. Obtained more funds from MHRD New Delhi.Achivemnts in the : In 1967 I started a weekly issue by name pakoda . It has literary Field been recorded by the Govt.as the first weekly magazine in the Union Territory of Pondicherry. It stopped after a few issues. Since 1984 till date I have written about 250 tamil short stories In leading popular magazines like kumudam,ananda vikatan, Kalki, kungumam, saavi, thaii etc. and a few novels and have won many prizes and awards. I have been engaged as resource person in govt. run workshops for short story writing. My songs have been broadcast and telecast in pondy , chennai Ceylon radios and pondy, chennai televisions. In pondy T.V I have written poems for a one hour dance drama named veerathai I have published 13 books ( 5-short story collections 2 poem collections, 2 novels, 2 adult edn books, 2 literary books on kamba Ramayana by titles kamba nayam part I&II.Prizes and awards Two of my short story collections ( Vizampala oodu & Mdugal And pallangal ) and one novel ( Ayal maharandum ) have won Kamban literary awards for the years 1990, 2001, and1998. One novel kathaladi ne yanaku has won pondicherry tamil witers association literary award. I have won many prizes for short stories in the competitions Conducted by leading magazines. I have won prizes and awards for poems also. I have won district Level prize and state level Barathidasan Gold Medel for a poem Contest conducted by Thamil arasi magazine. The award was Honoured by famous poet kavi arasu vairamuthu. at chennai. One of my poem book by name kurinchi punnagaiwas Selected and translated in german language by proff. Dieter Kapp In Koln university. My short stories were taken for research for M.Phil. project by One Mr. Manikkam and thesis published by karaikudi Allagappa University.Present work in hand I am engaged in Writing the Third volume Kamba Nayam Part III.Other Talents Taking photographs, participating in photo contests. Surname – Nataraja Rao ( Father’s name ) K . Dhanalakshmi Bai ( Mother;s name ) R. Chandrakanthi ( Wife’s name ) In my Pseudonym Puduvai Chandra Hari – Puduvai refers to my home town Puducherry ( Pondicherry State ) . Chandra refers to my wife’s name Chandrakanthi. And Hari first half of my original name Haridhass. I am aged 60. My wife is aged 58. She is house wife. In her younger age she worked as a trained school teacher. I have two sons and one daughter. First is my elder son H Easwardhass. M.Sc (Agri )He is working as regional manager in Nozhi Veedu seeds limited company in Salem district inTamilnadu. He is a table tennis player and has won many awards. His wife is E. Rajarajeswari.She is a house wife. She is a graduate and has undergone many computer diploma and certificateCourses. She is preparing herself for part time computer job. They have a four year old son Hetesh and a six months baby Prahathi. Second is my daughter Dr. J. Anandalakshmi. P.hd ( chemistry ).She holds a doctor’s degree in chemistry and is appointed as senior lecturer in chemistry in theAnnamalai University, Chidambaram. Tamil nadu. She is a Barathanattiyam dancer and has performed many dance programmes. When Mr. R.K. Narayanan was the president of India,She has performed her dance programme in the Governor’s palace in Pondicherry. She is married and has a 8 years old daughter Priyaa and a three years old son Dinesh. Her husband is N. Jaikumar. He is employed in the petroleum development corporation at Sultan at Oman in Muscut. My younger son is H. Vishnudhass. B.Tech. ( civil Engineer ). Though he has undergone the education of a civil engineer, he is working as senior animator in Digital JuiceAnnimation Company in Bangalore. From his child hood onwards he is interested I drawing andPaintings and he has won many prizes. My house glitters with his paintings. At the age of eightHe was interviewed in Television Programmes. He has drawn cover designs to my published books also. The animation company sent him to Japan for a higher level 3D training. Now he is giving training to his fellow workers in the company. He is recently married and his wife is V. Sumana. She is a M.B.B.S. doctor. She isPreparing herself for higher qualification. * * * * * `````````````````````````` About Contribution ```````````````````````` Myself Puduvai Chandrahari have contributed a lot to the tamil literature. I have written hundreds of short stories and one page stories in leading tamil magazines. My stories have been published in leading weekly magazines like kumudam, Ananda vikatan, Kalki, Kunkumam, Rani, Devi, Thai, Savi, and monthly magazines like Kalaimagal, amudha surabi etc. My adult poems and children poems have been broadcast in Pondicherry, Chennai andSri langa radios and in pondichery television, and Chennai doordarshan ( T.V) My Short stories and songs have been broadcast in chennai and pondicherry radios. My children poems are published in children text books also. I have written songs for Baratha Nattyam dance programmes. I have written books on Kamba Ramayana under the Headings Kamba Nayam Part One andKamba Nayam Part Two in simple tamil language. I have 30 years teaching experience in teaching for students of Xth, XIth,and XIIth standard in the subjects science, psychology and philosophy. I have conducted many training classes for school teachers and head masters. I have worked as state resource person for the training classes conducted by the education department of Pondicherry State. I have conducted classes to develop writing skills in the youngsters. Government has deputed me as resource person for the writing skills development courses. I have conducted workshops for story writing skills. Since my subject is philosophy , and have taught philosophy, psychology and logic for students for many years, I use different techniques to develop writing skills in the young generation. * * * * * * * * * * *
